The artist has been traveling to the rain forest for many years and has come to know the enormous variety of plants and trees found in the forest. She has come in close contact with several indigenous people learning about their rituals celebrations daily lives. From the patterns in their clothes to their body paint to their tools and pottery every detail was a revelation. These trips have inspired her to design unique hand-made jewelry using the seeds nuts and pods found in the forest and in particular in the Amazon region. The materials are purchased directly from several indigenous groups thus benefiting their local economies and started a sustainable art jewelry business. She worked extensively as a fashion designer. And this background has been instrumental in launching her career as a successful jewelry designer. The material is cleaned shaped perforated filed buffed. She creates one of a kind pieces with techniques such as weaving threading macram crochet knotting.
