My paintings are carefully crafted windows into a world that lift the viewer. Music is my chief inspiration. I paint with no imagery in mind. I let the palette knife dance across the canvas slashing and scraping as a trumpeter lays down notes in a solo. Colors collide and imagery emerges. Brushes coax the images to life. I am fascinated by the way colors make us feel. Ordinary activities can be heightened joyous occasions if we are open. Walking the dog can be a great adventure. The dogs thinks so. As I paint I dissolve into bliss. My hope is the viewer does too.
