Artist Statement
I actively seek to promote an awareness of the natural beauty and colors of our Earth to everyone viewing my stone jewelry. As a stone / mineral artist my goal is to showcase the uniqueness of each specimen. Minimizing the visibility of the supporting infrastructure is critical and is accomplished using a technique that I developed during my early explorations to maximize color. I use fine gauge sterling silver to encase each piece and then proceed to direct the focus to the beauty of the stone. The addition of either contrasting or complimentary secondary stones enhances the visibility of colors within each primary stone. Subtle feminine character is achieved by creating swirls of silver at the crown. Each finished piece is delivered with a card detailing the stone source and associated energy properties. Currently my inventory contains more than 200 different stones. I also incorporate meteorites shells and lava into my work.
