Artist Statement
I see the world in 3-dimensional. It is with this unique eye that I have been able to transform simple 1-dimensional images or descriptions into unique 3-dimensional works of art. When I begin my creative process, I create a stencil of my idea. I design the layout and proportionately determine the overall size as well as the sizes of all of the contributing smaller pieces. I then utilize my saws and cut all aspects of the image. I hand piece them together and hand paint each piece to make the work complete. The main material I use to make my work is reclaimed wood. I collect old barn wood–wood that would normally be thrown away–and transform it into amazing works of art! I really enjoy making something old brand new.
