A Serendipitous Story
Dear Friends,
A few weeks ago, we were flying back from attending two art festivals in Florida, where we met new artists, connected with artists we know, and escaped the cold Chicago weather for a few days. On the plane, we worked on processing jurors’ scores for applications for all 20 of our art festivals.
An hour from landing the man seated next to us turned and said:
“About 28 years ago, I brought my 2 week year old daughter to the Port Clinton Art Festival. Since then, my wife and I go to as many of your art festivals as we can every summer. We’ve bought art and have made many artist connections over the years. I just want to thank you for all the work you do and thank you for bringing art and artists to our towns in the Chicagoland area. It’s brought so much joy to me and my family over the years.”
That man’s name was Herb. He told us he couldn’t wait to tell his wife, Lori that he met us.
It’s often hard to see the positive effect your hard work has on people’s lives, and most of the time, no one tells you. We’re so thankful to have met Herb and we’re really looking forward to seeing Herb and Lori back at our festivals this summer!
All the best,
