Artist Statement
My collage paintings are visual expressions of my emotions as I experience them at different times and places. First I create bold and colorful abstract paintings using oil paints on canvas. I brush on, scrape away, blot with rag, wipe with palette knife. Then I use familiar images, photographs or other objects like gold leaf or strings to incorporate collages into my painting creating various abstract ideas.
