Artist Statement
Handcarved serpentine stone sculptures depicting the breathtaking instinctive values of love and unity within the human and wildlife families. My art is tribal art which is named after my tribe” Shona” from Zimbabwe.
I cut and shape the serpentine stone using the basic stone chisels , mallet, files and water papers of rough to fine grit. Each stone sculpture contains a unique patina which illumines after polishing the sculpture with bees wax. The stone comes in more than 200 color variations and is quarried in all the continents of the world.
