Artist Statement
My latest work is created with oils on canvas
and paper.
Althought it is inspired by images from Renaissance art it has a distinct contemporary aesthetic, which could be best described as magic realism.
Often my paintings include elements such as pathway or a window, leading the eye from the figure in the foreground to the landscape in the distance,all tinged with a touch of melancholy.
In my work I am trying to express my vision of the world – poetic,mystical and deeply lyrical.
