Artist Statement
I am happy that I have found the way to express on silk my visions, dreams, and even never written letters. Batik making process is interaction between hot wax, silk and dyes. The unwaxed sections of the fabric are dyed then waxed until most areas are covered through several overlapping designs. The final design is made by cracks, when the darkest dye founds the way in wax free areas and forces through cracked surface e creating it’s own ornament.
I love the unpredictable nature of Batik, however, not to be limited to just batiking, in some cases I like to add photo applications, burning, painting and Sgraffito techniques.
