Artist Statement
I am an inspirational and spiritual eco-artist. I specializes in sculpture and reformation of previously-used metal adding my own twist of femininity and spiritual energies. I’m a self taught artist in a variety of mediums and I have been making art in one form or another for over 40 years.
My tools are my hand-held plasma torch and my welders used in conjunction with grinders, hammers, along with some nontraditional methods of manipulating metal.
I truly love creating art from material that had a life before, is more difficult than using new metal and the shapes and textures fuel my imagination and it helps with keeping the planet clean. The metal is usually oxidized or rusted so it must be cleaned and ground down before being shaped into something pleasing and desirable. I harvest all of my own metals, clean the pieces, create my designs, and create each piece by hand from start to finish, there are no computerized machines involved ever.
