Dear all,
On behalf of Peg Blanchard and myself, I would like to thank ALL of you for a phenomenal Art Festival last weekend! It was my first time participating in the event, and I was beyond thrilled with the entire weekend. We had thousands of people downtown experiencing wonderful art as well as shopping, dining, and having fun. Of course, the stunning weather all weekend didn’t hurt a bit, and all the merchants and artists I spoke to were beyond thrilled with the turnout and the impact on their businesses. This is truly a great event for Barrington.
Special thanks to Peg, who coordinated the entire event this year while I got up to speed (I’ll be on deck next year!), and special thanks to Amy Amdur, Lindsey Galassini, and the entire crew at Amdur, who were beyond professional and truly make this event the success that it is.
Thanks also to our Barrington Cultural Commission, many of whom took shifts to work the information booth (led by Linda Hovde) and helped coordinate the North Shore Concert Band concert. Thanks to Peg, Jeff Lawler, and Karen Darch, who were on site all day Saturday to represent the Village to our out-of-town guests.
Thanks to our Public Works department, who dutifully managed all the behind-the-scenes needs with street issues and traffic, and were always there to help out with lugging and hauling items as needed. They are a priceless crew!
And thanks to our Fire and Police Departments, who were on site both days to provide oversight and emergency management, which thankfully was on the quiet side this weekend. (Thanks also to Chief Arie for staffing the EOC and providing weather updates!).
It truly takes a Village to execute an event of this magnitude, and I hope you all will pass this message along to your departments and crews.
Looking forward to next year!
Warm regards,
Patty
