Chicago…Where there are still a few free things to do and one only happens this week.
Top 5 Free things to do in Chicago
1.Walk the Lakefront…beautiful sunrises, and views that never grow old.
2.Enjoy the architecture…from the golden oldies like the Wrigley Building, to our new mags like The Aqua Building, you can get your steps in while seeing a diverse collection of amazing buildings.
3.Explore neighborhoods…Greek Town, China Town, Lincoln Park…they each have their own character.
4. A Zoo in the City? Yes, Lincoln Park Zoo is Chicago’s historic zoo in the City…and Free.
5. Walk the Magnificent Mile this Friday, Saturday or Sunday…start at Oak Street on the North, and walk south to Pioneer Court where a big bridge crosses over the Chicago River. You will know you are in the right place if you see a “ginormous” sculpture of Lincoln with a guy who looks like your neighbor if you grew up in the suburbs. There you will also find Artfest Michigan Avenue…a three day fest featuring artists from all over the country. And…FREE! The looks are free. Art is for sale. Think Paintings, photography, sculpture, jewelry, mixed media and more.
Some very cool art demos too like Richard Bordon demonstrating fabric dying with big vats of water and cool colors. ( Make one yourself and take it home…small fee)
