Feathers are a symbol of hope and change in cultures around the world. They changed my life and launched my art career when I needed it most. I had never seen feather work before–it just sort of hit from out of the blue. Most of the pieces are completly spontaneous and so much joy to create. I use found objects from the seashore vintage jewelry and handmade papers. I also paint images of fish and wildlife on the feathers as well. The naturally shed feathers are purchased from parrot rescue groups rare bird aviaries and private owners here in the U.S. They use that money to off-set the cost of the care of the birds.
