Artist Statement
My work uses a variety of techniques (stitching casting soldered wire work and forging) to create abstract sculptural pieces of jewelry. I enjoy combining metals textures and styles to create work that is based in nature (leaves roots water) but have an industrial edge. My pieces use semiprecious stones vintage glass pearls and other materials to create one of a kind work that is never repeated. I work with sterling silver brass bronze copper and gold. My work is divided into 4 styles: -Bones (creating sculptural pieces of metal to create a focal point with gems and beads) -Cast (abstract designed rings and pendants using lost wax casting) -Forged (using traditional metalworking techniques to form and etch metal in fun ways) -Stitched (building forms that are filled with fine wire stitching and stones) I began studying metalworking in 2003 and continue to expand my skills to this day. I also do custom work for individuals and events such as weddings.
