My objective as an artist is to create organic forms out of glass using incredibly rich colors and textures. The best part of the experience is experimenting with a variety of enamels and precious metals layering them on top of each other to create unique textures and colors that mimic those found in nature. My inspiration for doing glass pumpkins came from the annual Circleville Pumpkin Show in Circleville, Ohio, where I grew up as a child and is a large part of my heritage. This event is the largest of it’s kind in the United States as it is a great event celebrating the harvest of the season and draws well over 500,000 people every year! Everyone enjoys finding that special unique piece that they believe is there own and can appreciate. Glass is always a non stop learning experience and is satisfying in having that challenge of creating something different and unique.
