Artist Statement
I design and create contemporary jewelry with an eye for detail and a love of color that follows me through out all aspects of my life. My work is often referred to as fun” and I take that as the highest of compliments as it reflects the joy I hope people feel in viewing of any of my artistic endeavors. I have had little formal training aside from a few drawing classes in high school and community college and am self taught when it comes to jewelry making. I enjoy coming up with my own original designs and working things out on my own. The metal I prefer is an industrial copper wire that has a polymer coating that protects it from tarnishing so therefore it is easy to care for. I embellish my designs with beads made from glass crystal gems wood shell rhinestones and alcohol inks. I used the techniques of chain maille hammered Viking knit jigged or wire wrap. Shows I have attended: Cherokee Triangle Louisville Ky. Cedarhurst Mt. Vernon Il EdwardsPlace Fine Art Fair”
