Artist Statement
Radiant freshwater pearls are the primary material I use to create distinctive fine jewelry. I select only the finest contemporary pearls to ensure beauty and value. Im particularly fond of pearls with non-traditional shapes like baroque & keshi pearls. I look for unique pearls that most people have never seen like 30mm keshi pearls or the years new trend from the pearl farmers in China. Luster is one of the most important characteristics of fine pearls but color also brings out their true essence. There is an endless array of white pearls but I also use a wide variety of natural colors including peach pink lavender & gold along with a few high quality dyed pearls. I bezel-set pearls using a traditional fabrication process; I cut solder file sand & buff then set the pearls & link them together as needed. Pearls are alive & move when they are strung so I also hand-string pearls on silk & hand-knot. All work is set in sterling silver.
