Artist Statement
Self-taught and working in this medium since 1975.I started out as a San francisco street artist . Before that I spent 2 years digging minerals in the southwest and cutting my own gems. I create each piece using 22kt. 18kt. gold and sterling silver.I start each piece by laying out different stone combinations and sketching around them. I also draw upon my background as a Tibetan Buddhist for inspiration. I fabricate construct each piece from sheet metal and wire Using an acetylene torch and various hand tools I solder pierce stamp and etch along with many other techniques. I enjoy working with the natural stones as each one evokes it's own unique design idea. I participate in juried outdoor shows as well as galleries throughout America for the past 33+ years. I never really considered myself a jeweler.I have grown very comfortable working and expressing myself through this medium My newest artistic breakthru is cutting up old dishes that I collect from all over the world.
