Painting is an outlet of creative expression. It is a testimony of my thoughts and emotions. It is to beautify my mind body and soul by pleasing the eye aesthetically and thoughts conceptually. The canvas is the most important tool it is the foundation of balance created by the collaboration of subject and negative space. My work runs the gamut between modern-contemporary to Dada-mixed media. Metals texts acrylic spray paint and polymers regularly appear in my work in addition to traditional oils. Red blue and yellow are dominant colors in my paintings because they are the purest values all other hues are made by mixing these primary colors. A dominant theme within my work is the lotus flower. It is an important aspect in regards to the relation it has with my culture and way of life. It represents my upbringing as a 1st generation welfare recipient and how my life has transformed. Through obtaining knowledge culture and hard work success has blossomed.
