The artist’s work is identified by strong yet graceful, black contour lines that define the faces she creates, while harmonious and vibrant use of color fill the space in ways that are often unexpected, giving her a distinct style and flair in her work. Working on around thirty pieces at a time, the artist captures the fast, gesture momentum she creates with her brush, always with an openness to make mistakes, knowing that these will eventually build beautiful layers creating a unique background of colors.
Her subject matter, the portrait, is used in part because human images are reflective of the human experience. Through portraiture, she communicates with a diverse range of viewers. This inspiration comes from a long fascination with people watching and creating stories since childhood. She now brings characters to life, hoping to engage viewers’ own interpretations and create something that is also appreciated for its aesthetic value.
