I am a Fiber artist. I work with natural fiber, exotic fabric, decorative yarn and dye to explore textural effects and color with techniques of nuno felting. I love to create my own textiles for my garments, and felting is one of the few methods that an artist can use to do so. By using fine base weave fabrics and manipulating finer fibers such as silk, soya and flax with minimum amounts of fine wool, a lightweight textile with many possibilities for exciting texture, with diverse characteristics can be created that drapes fluidly on the body. These individually created textiles make the garments unique. I use many techniques, such as resist and slash, forming texture thru folding, stitching and layering fabrics first before wet felting them. I embellish my pieces with bead work and embroidery. My collection consists of a range of scarves, wraps and jackets. My latest work is a collection of Nuno felted seamless dresses.
