Artist Statement
I have always collected beads and stones. I feel a connection to the people that had the beads before me. Growing up in the country set my aesthetic and color values. I work in earth tones. I am passionate about my color combinations striving to find something unexpected but has harmony for the eye. I weave I stich and combine different cultures and textures into a one of a kind pieces. I have saved pendants or beads for years until I find the right balance. Each piece can take 15 hours. My work is designed to be worn in layers. I have many collectors that will wear several pieces at a time. I travel the globe to find antique and interesting pieces to work with. It's very exciting to have many cultures and textures involved in one necklace.
