Artist Statement
To create wheel thrown and hand built forms in clay and use them in the raku process to insight artistic ideals that make a profound statement of imagery that stimulates the senses and engages the mind. Philosophy behind the work: My work with wheel thrown vases is a study in curves balance and forum. Styles of Greek Asian Modern and Contemporary Influence my work . By using the raku processes I try to build decorum between the refine shapes and the unpredictable array of color that forms from the raku process. My work in abstract forms stem from the basic building blocks that are taught in the begging of an artist career. Then try to bring dialogs of content between the viewer and ideas or concepts of what the I am portraying in a specific group of work.
