Sunshine Artist Magazine, following up their 100 Best Art & Design Shows, wrote this nice article about the Chicago Botanic Garden Art Festival!
“Another show that proves that smaller festivals can succeed on the 200 Best, the Chicago Botanic Garden Art Festival is Amdur Productions’ second top-20 event. It’s also hailed as the promoter’s most unique offering thanks to a strict insistence that displayed art have botanic themes, materials or use.
Despite hotter-than-normal temperatures at last year’s outing, readers who placed this show on their ballots still made out nicely. A few were in the $2,00-$5,00 range, the majority had between $5,000 and $10,000 in revenue, and a couple even surpassed the five-figure threshold. But as is often the case at Chicago-area festivals, having local buyers can help ensure success here.
Unsurprisingly given the promoter’s expertise, several other Amdur events made this year’s fine art list, too. They include Art at the Glen (#26), Gold Coast Art Fair (#30), Buffalo Grove Art Festival (#43), Millennium Art Festival (#47) and Promenade of Art (#88).”
