Artist Statement
I have no formal fashion design education…I actually studied architecture. Everything I do follows in concert with the discipline of form and function. Each handbag is an experience and its design; triangulated or squared; is constructed in order to achieve clean lines. Materials are chosen to provide textural interests and color palettes are selected to accentuate ones fashion and expression. The process begins with found or new leather and fabric waxed then cut into the desired design then wrapped around the material by using contrast stitching and hand sewn to form. Metal accents are added as protective purse feet d rings buckles or decorations. Straps are hand dyed adjustable or braided and there is an interior key chain holder. Magnetic closures or belts are used to close. Each handbag is fabric lined has interior pockets and is one of a kind.
