GREAT BOOTH DISPLAY = MORE JURY POINTS
Artists can earn easy jury points on their art show applications by having a great booth display!
What is a Booth Display?
In an art festival application, the booth display is an image of what the artists booth looks like when the tent, displays, and art are all set up.
Why is the Booth Display Important?
We strive to create professional and high quality art festivals so that the overall environment of the art festival supports the sales of fine art. This is why we ask for the booth image and why the booth image is approximately a third of the artist’s total jury score.
What if I’m New to Outdoor Shows and Don’t have a Booth Shot?
Set up a mock booth in your home. Make sure to set up in the way you plan to display at the show.
For 3D artists, use tables, pedestals, and/or racks to display the work. Always use a solid, neutral color tablecloth to cover the tables.
For 2D artists, use where two walls meet in your house to create the illusion of how you will hang your work. Start to think about how you will do this at the outdoor event!
What are Some Simple Tips for a Good Booth Shot?
- Take a great shot with good interior lighting of your booth.
- Don’t be in the shot
- Nothing on the ground or leaning
- Don’t over strip the booth
