Artist Statement
The versatility of polymer clay is a creative playground for me; with clay in my hands and my tools around me I feel free to let the artwork move and breathe as it develops. I love starting from scratch with a new method or vision to challenge me but my favorite kind of creation is when I can work with the leftover scraps from a project. Scraps help me use color palates shapes and textures that I would never dream up on my own. It takes courage to make this kind of art knowing that each step forward might ruin everything I’ve done so far. But there is nothing like the transcendent moment when I see something entirely new and lovely being born under my hands. I believe these creations are bits of personality and soul that belong to the person who wears them. I want people who wear my work to experience the freedom of expressing their unique identity.
