Artist Statement
The colors and shapes of the natural world inspire my work– the iridescence of torched copper enamel the textures of natural objects and ancient motifs the sparkle of semi-precious stones. I work in enameled copper fold formed and torch colored copper etched copper and textured bronze. Enameled pieces feature natural textures and ancient design motifs. My torch creates iridescent colors on copper and a variety of found objects including leaves grass and my own carvings imprint bronze. Sterling silver links rivets hand forged clasps and ear wires add elegance. Copper pieces are lacquered or enameled to prevent oxidation. My work is designed for everyday events – work or play grocery shopping or corporate meetings. The lovely neutral palette means the pieces can be worn with any outfit or mood. I use a variety of different techniques that appeal to many different tastes but all the pieces share a casual drama which make them unique. Thank you for your consideration.
