Artist Statement
Making art brings me happiness and fulfillment. I take much of my inspiration from nature. Both in it’s beauty and in the preservation of it. The mediums that I work in are mainly blown and hand cut glass tinned copper and lead. I use recycled materials whenever possible. This holds especially true when making the garden windows. I rescue vintage windows and give them a new life in the garden. Blown and stained glass techniques are used in making the screen bugs. Again taking my cues from nature but with a twist of fun. I have studied at the Center For Creative Studies in Detroit and Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo Michigan. Also at the school of life where experimenting and taking chances have often times resulted in the best of outcomes. I feel very fortunate to be able to make a living doing something that I love so much. Sharing it with others is the icing on the cake!
