Artist Statement
My jewelry is made from the smallest of seed beads. Most pieces are one of a kind. The free form bead work utilizes various sizes of seed beads crystals pearls pressed glass beads and charms. A piece may incorporate as many as four or five different off loom beading stitches. In addition to free form work I also en-bezel” gemstones vintage buttons and found objects with beaded bezels and various embellishment. My latest work returns to more traditional stitches exploring combinations of varying sizes of beads within a piece. Stitches might include Russian Leaf stitch as well as more traditional off loom stitches such as herringbone peyote brickstitch and right angle weave. The final piece is not only intricate and interesting but also very wearable.”
