Tips from Amy Amdur
Yes, you can take your kids to an art festival! Summer time is family time and art festivals are great family outings. What’s the trick for fun and smiling faces? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered!

Plan Before You Go
- Visit the festival web site before you go. See what the hours are, where parking is, and any special programs for kids.
- Go as early as you can and remember to put on sunscreen before you leave the house. Hats are a great idea too.
- Take a bag or backpack and throw in a few water bottles and power bars too.
At the festival make it fun!
- Look for our Kids Zone. Try the Art Fest Bingo cards which have the kiddos looking for a painting of a sunset, photo of a tree, musicians and more.
- Take a break in the food area and cool off with an Italian Ice or snack. Listen to the live music while you snack. This is a good time to refresh the sunscreen too.
Go to the Kids Zone for a little art making!

- Make a spin art masterpiece, a sand art sculpture,
- Color a souvenir. Try our new squeegee art where every piece is a masterpiece,
- Become art under the hands of a talented face painter
Finish up the day with some booth to booth walking
- When you see a sign that says: KIDS STOP, go in. This sign indicates an artist who welcomes kids and will explain their process in youth friendly ways.
- Stop in booths that have a sign that says DEMO. These artists are making art in their space!
If you or your children have special needs, let us know. We believe the arts are accessible to all.
