Artist Statement
Our destiny began on a cold and rainy night in 1984 when we first met. Not only did our names rhyme (Dale and Gail) but we also found out after a very short time that we had a lot in common, including our love of Photography.
Our photography revolves around destinations we’ve traveled to, including our own city of Chicago, plus Italy, Ireland, France, Canada and more. Whether it be capturing world famous icons such as the Eiffel Tower or Trinity Library in Dublin, Ireland, where the “Book of Kells” is preserved, the possibilities are endless, and it’s something we truly enjoy doing together.
We came up with the idea of putting our images onto aluminum sheet metal after photographing several areas in downtown Chicago, including the “L”. The metal of the structure of the “L” as well as the city itself create an interesting “hip” urban look. Photographs on Metal enhance sharpness, color and clarity. They are also very practical, as they are weather and fade resistant. The metal’s durability far surpasses any other medium. The lightweight metal print extends about 1” from the wall, creating more dimension. No frame is needed, presenting a clean and contemporary look. We offer several different sizes ranging up to 40”x96”.
The response to our exciting adventure has been overwhelming. We look forward to many more years of forever preserving the beauty around us together.
After all, it is our “Destiny”!
