Artist Statement
A former printmaker and bookbinder the artist uses fold forming raising chasing and other techniques as a vocabulary to transform precious metal into fabric-like pieces that engage the wearer with silky subtle textures. Called Gold and Silver Linen this collection offers a range of styles which appeal to the tailored woman as well as those who love art jewelry. The artist’s other primary inspirations stems from a lifelong love of architectural ornamentation vintage textural treatments and the ancient world. Her new group Modern Vintage reflects forms and shapes from the early 20th century including the sharkskin pattern fluting ironwork and geometric shapes. So far the primary techniques include woven mesh tension wire and filigree. Elegance for Every Day is the artist’s core design philosophy. Scale comfort and durability are central considerations so that pieces can be worn with casual or formal attire.
