Artist Statement
Inspired by a love of nature and a desire to contribute to the sustainable earth cause these finger puppets and scarves celebrate our earth’s flora and fauna. Created from sheep’s wool these items are biodegradable renewable and are made to create an awareness of our natural environment in people. A recurring theme of the puppets is animals in danger. These include wild animals that are facing loss of habitat changing climate or being over hunted. It also includes animals that are rescued including dogs cats donkeys and others. The scarves are made to celebrate animal’s fur or feathers the flowers in a garden the grass overgrown and blowing in the wind. The recurring theme is our natural world and how important it is to our lives.
