Artist Statement
Every hat I make is hand constructed using top grain cowhide fine boar suede and/or breathable fabrics. Using traditional leather working techniques parts are cut hand formed glued and sewn to create the hat. I then shape and characterize by wetting forming pushing and prodding until each hat has just the right styling. It is then trimmed with domestic or exotic (non-endangered) skins. Fine fashion colored skins bring a soft feminine look to many of my hats but many styles are designed for the men in the crowd. Each piece is an artistic functional statement.
