Artist Statement
My work is a playful exploration of nature simplicity and being human. At an early age I realized that art was the best way to channel my creativity and express myself. My style is a direct reflection of my heritage. Born and raised in Bogota Colombia I have always been attracted to loud and rich colors and exotic and organic shapes. I feel like my work is full of life emotion and movement. I use acrylic paints markers pencil and spray paint. I like to paint on thick gallery canvases especially when making a series of the same subject. I also like to experiment with found objects wood paper furniture and walls. My process usually starts by adding thick and rich layers of paint for background mixing beautiful harmonious colors as well as metallics to give it depth and movement. I Then add my subject and more detail. Influenced by street art pop art surrealism fantasy everyday life emotions and struggles. My art work is evolving everyday with me and my journey.
