Artist Statement
Unique Jewelry Art is made using red white & yellow gold and featuring conflict-free gemstones & diamonds. Using professional old-world techniques I create bold dramatic designs featuring these precious materials. My process involves hand-working pieces of flat & round colored gold into organic & figurative forms for my Whirlwind” pendants and “Crossover Coil” rings. The gold pieces are then soldered into place. The Wearable Art is created individually and no 2 pieces are the same. For my “Organic Architecture” collection I use hand-craving and “Lost Wax” technique enhanced with hand-fabricating to create a fusion of the Natural and Architectural. Texture and color as well as light and shadow are used to finish these bold designs. The finished Jewelry Art takes the viewer on a visual journey through the design inviting the eye to wander & explore. The designs create a feeling of movement and energy in an otherwise static medium.”
