Artist Statement
For me jewelry making is about design quality of gemstones and components unique workmanship and lastly affordability. I make all my jewelry out of sterling silver much of it I oxidize and polish 14 or 22 kt. gold filled and 14kt gold. I hand make my ear wires and some of my findings. Those I don't make I purchase from other artists. I utilize wire wrapping some metalsmithing and beading in my work.The gemstones I use are of the highest quality I can find but I am mindful of the need to keep my costs at a level that make it possible to have a finished piece that the rest of us” can afford. Hence my use of gemstones that are often of unusual shapes and cuts. The challenge of designing with them is what I enjoy. With every new gemstone I purchase or finding I make or discover I realize that in designing I will never have “done it all.””
