Artist Statement
Pauline and Brian are a husband and wife glass fusing team. We create functional glass pieces for everyday use, utilizing geometrical & symmetrical designs. Glass fusing is the process of using the heat of a kiln to join together pieces of artglass. At temperatures of 1100 to 1300 degrees, the glass softens and takes the shape of a mold. As the temperature increases, the glass becomes more fluid and flows together. Fusing occurs at temperatures of 1450 degrees and above. Some designs are created by combing/raking glass that has reached a liquid state. Our pieces typically go through several firings to achieve their final result.
Pauline and Brian have traveled the country showing their work at juried fine art festivals and shows for the past 13 years. Artists also display their pieces at several galleries across the Southwest.
