Artist Statement
Our work is a collaborative effort between two artists. We work together in the design and execution of each art piece. We use blown glass to express our point of view. In our “Watercolor Series” we use transparent colored glass overlays and clear glass layers to achieve an elusive interplay of color. We breathe life into the 2000 degree molten mass and create 3 dimensional forms resembling holograms or auras of color. When lit, these vessels transfer color reflections on the surrounding surfaces. Our work is a physical expression of our spiritual connection. We create non-functional vessels, wall hanging clusters, and 8 foot sphere towers (see booth image). Qualities that describe our design aesthetic are optimism, joy and mystery.
