Artist Statement
Trees inspire realistic and fantasy forests in my work. My paintings capture texture and structure of growing trees in different atmospheric conditions especially as light and color evolve through the seasons. My work includes traditional realistic landscapes as well as the vibrant and sinuous growth of my imaginary Dream Trees” series. Bright colors and free flowing vines become painted lines extending the trees in my dreams beyond the two dimensional to the three dimensional ceramic works as well.”
