Plan Your Day!
Returning to Chicago on Saturday, May 13 and Sunday, May 14, this northside event features art for the home including fabulous paintings, sculptures, and fiber pieces, as well as décor, jewelry and more; all hand made by artists and artisans. Live music all weekend long, painting classes, selfie stations, festival food, interactive art activities for kids hosted by local businesses, as well as the brand new “Kids Art Stop” where artists invite children to stop at their booth to learn more about the art making process, making this a fun-filled must attend event! Beer lovers will be happy to see a broad selection of brews for purchase presented by Friends of Lakeview and curated by locally based Bitter Pops.
This event, hosted by Special Service Area 27, is free and takes place on Lincoln Avenue between Roscoe and School Street. Attendees are invited to bring their gently used wall art to the festival where it will be donated to the Chicago Furniture Bank, a nonprofit that distributes furnishings and art to those leaving shelters and moving into permanent housing. Several artists from this show are participating in Amdur Productions’ Green Ribbon Project. Artists place a green ribbon on a piece of art in their booth, and if the piece is sold, 10% of the sale will be donated to Amdur’s charitable partner, which this year is the Chicago Furniture Bank. On Sunday morning, from 9 to 10 am, the public is invited to participate in a complimentary yoga class presented by the Free Mvmt Shop, which will take place at the north main stage.
